A few years ago, my sons started asking for books “for them” and that turned into my co-written middle-grade series, The Blackwell Pages.Ĭurrently, I’m midway through my Cainsville series (adult contemporary gothic), wrapping up my Age of Legends series (YA high fantasy) and launching an adult mystery series with City of the Lost (out now in Canada/UK, May in the US.) In YA, I’m moving to standalone thrillers for a while-the first came out last fall, The Masked Truth which was an important book for me, with its side focus on teen mental health issues.īesides novels, I write short stories and novellas. That became my first YA trilogy, Darkest Powers. I said no, and offered to write her a book set in that world, with teenage characters. And that’s one topic I can’t speak on-the TV show-I have nothing to do with it! It’s just based (loosely) on my work.īack around 2005, my then-13-year-old daughter asked to read Bitten.
